I thought this was the first time I’d seen Alya Stark until about half way through the edit and I realised I’d already cut a scene with her for Lesbea. That can happen, some different make-up, different hair and you can think it’s a totally different person. You should see some of the passport photos!
I think the women needed a lot more direction in the scenario. Cristal Caitlin aka Cristin Caitlin aka Vinna Reed is a confident and seasoned pro and pulls it off but the other two, especially Alya look a bit at a loss what to do with themselves and why. I sometimes feel like I’m watching a video of someone drown, unable to help as they flounder.
I imagine they’ve received no more direction than “Ok girls, you are in the background, you are excited.” And if that’s not enough “Energy, big movements”. They end up looking like they are being controlled by someone pushing all the buttons at once.
